- 94 DECANTER Georgina Hindle: Blackberry notes on the nose, with some herbal perfume touches too that are so appealing. Smooth and softly textured, with chalky nuances and grippy black cherry, strawberry and blackcurrant leaf aspects giving structure and body. Succulent and juicy with mouthwatering freshness. Great vibrancy and drive with life. Super approachable with the same vein of refinement and charm that Figeac does so well. 2024-2036
- 93 Punkte JEB DUNNUCK: The second wine of this great estate, the 2019 Petit-Figeac offers a vivid purple hue to go with a great nose of black raspberry and mulberry fruits supported by notes of tobacco, flowers, cedar pencil, and Asian spices. This plump, ripe, medium to full-bodied effort has a round, expansive mouthfeel, sweet tannins, and just loads of up-front charm. It's beautifully done and well worth seeking out. It's going to evolve for 10-15 years.
- 93 Punkte VINOUS, Antonio Galloni: The 2019 Petit-Figeac is af fabulous second wine. Bright and effusive, the 2019 is positively stellar. This blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot exudes class. Sweet floral and spice accents lift a core of pliant fruit in this engaging Saint-Èmilion. The 2019 is flat-out gorgeaus. Drinking Window: 2027-2039
- 93 Punkte James Suckling: A firm and refined red with berry and walnut aromas and flavors. Medium body. Creamy texture. Medium finish. Needs time to open. Try after 2025.
- 93 Punkte JANE ANSON Inside Bordeaux: Cloves and turmeric spices on the nose, this is full of flavour and juice. There is a precison to the spiced blackberry puree and blackcurrant fruits that runs right through the palate. A well-crafted 2nd wine that is full of life, if a little austere in its tannic structure right now. Will soften and fatten up more with another two or three years in bottle, and its one to look out for. 30 new oak, 33hlh yield.
- Jancis Robinson: 58 Merlot, 33 Cabernet Sauvignon, 9 Cabernet Franc. Second wine of Ch Figeac. Rarely shown en primeur so first time tasted. Aromatically open and fleshy, the Merlot to the fore. Some floral notes behind. Palate round and appealing (Merlot again) then tightens to give freshness and drive, the Cabernet taking over on the finish. Caressing texture and tannins. Clean and digeste. A tiny step towards the grand vin. Drinking Date: 2025-2035 ;
